Meet the Founder

Jas Aulakh is a globally recognised, multi-award-winning Bhangra instructor, choreographer and dancer with over 17 years of experience in the art form. Known for her signature high-energy style, Jas blends traditional Bhangra foundations with a modern twist, creating performances and classes that are both authentic and dynamic.

Jas is widely recognised as one of the UK’s leading female Bhangra instructors. She made history as the first solo female Bhangra artist to secure a weekly timetable slot at the world-famous Danceworks Studios in the heart of London. More recently, she joined the MAGIC instructor team as the world’s first smart AI fitness Bhangra dance instructor, stocked in world-famous department store Selfridges.

Her Bhangra journey began as a competitive dancer with Imperial College London before progressing to train with the ground-breaking Josh Valaithian Da. During her competitive career, Jas captained both teams and achieved success at both UK National and International Bhangra competitions in the USA. She has since gone on to judge Bhangra competitions across the world.

Jas’ performance career spans some of the UK’s most prestigious platforms. In 2022, she choreographed, taught and performed alongside her troupe at the Late Queen’s official Platinum Jubilee celebrations, dancing directly outside Buckingham Palace. In 2024, the group also performed at The Lord Mayor’s Show, and later that year delivered a live Bhangra and Dhol performance at the Leyton Orient vs Birmingham City football match for South Asian Heritage Month — featured on ITV.

Her television credits include appearing in a national CBeebies episode of “What’s In Your Bag?”, leading her team on Channel 4’s Stand Up To Cancer Live, and choreographing and featuring in music videos alongside world-renowned Punjabi artists such as Jazzy B, Dr Zeus and Zora Randhawa.

Internationally, Jas and her troupe have performed at the San Remo Music Festival alongside Italian superstar Jovanotti and she is a two-time Glastonbury Festival performer, supporting artists including Bee2 and DJ Bobby Friction as part of The Bhangra All-Stars. Additional festival credits include Boomtown, Shambala, Victorious and Bristol Harbour Festival. She has also supported leading Punjabi artists such as Raf Saperra, Jaz Dhami, Jassi Sidhu, Juggy D, Raxstar, Roach Killa and Sona Walia.

Beyond performance, Jas is deeply committed to education and cultural outreach. In 2023, she led a two-day Bhangra masterclass for the Associate Programme at Rifco Theatre, one of the UK’s most successful touring theatre companies, working closely with actor Ameet Chana to develop a bespoke Bhangra syllabus. She has also worked with the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, most recently delivering a Bhangra and Dhol workshop to Chevening Scholars from over 45 countries — introducing future global leaders to Bhangra, many for the first time, creating further global awareness of Bhangra.

Jas regularly hosts international workshops across Europe, from France to Germany, and in 2025 became the first person from the UK to judge Europe’s first major Bhangra competition. Her corporate portfolio includes workshops and performances for Meta, Lufthansa, Boston Consulting Group, Accenture, A&O Shearman and Big Four accountancy firms.

Jas is the winner of the Women of the Future Awards 2022 in the Arts & Culture category, presented to her by Cherie Blair CBE and a finalist for Best Dance Artist at the National UK Bhangra Awards 2023.

Above all, Jas is known for her passion, energy and commitment to sharing the joy of Bhangra - bringing people together through culture, movement and celebration wherever she goes.
